My Vision
New Leadership. Real Representation.
I’m running for Sunnyside City Council because I believe our city deserves leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers results for the people who live here. Over the years, I’ve seen both the potential and the frustration that come with local government. We can do better — and we will, by addressing the three biggest challenges facing our community today: government functionality, homelessness, and economic development.
Below is my plan for how we move Sunnyside forward — together.
1. Government Functionality: Restoring Trust and Teamwork

Right now, Sunnyside’s government isn’t working as well as it should. There’s too much division, too little communication, and not enough focus on results.
If something isn’t functioning, then nothing is functioning correctly.
I believe City Hall should be a place where collaboration and accountability are the rule, not the exception. As your councilmember, I’ll work to:
- Rebuild communication and trust between council members, city staff, and the community.
- Promote transparency by keeping meetings open, information accessible, and residents informed.
- Encourage teamwork across departments and with regional partners to reduce duplication, improve efficiency, and get things done.
- Hold leadership accountable — including myself — through measurable goals and regular progress reports.
Good governance isn’t about politics; it’s about performance. Sunnyside deserves a council that functions with professionalism, respect, and a shared purpose.
2. Homelessness: Compassion and Community Safety

Homelessness has become one of the most visible and complex challenges in Sunnyside. I see it not as a problem to “remove,” but a challenge we must meet with both compassion and common sense.
Downtown is the heart of our city — a place where families should feel comfortable, where local businesses can thrive, and where dignity is extended to everyone.
Here’s how I plan to approach it:
- Collaborate with local organizations that specialize in housing, addiction recovery, and mental health services to connect people with real help.
- Support housing-first programs that offer stability as the first step toward recovery and independence.
- Strengthen partnerships with local law enforcement and community groups to ensure public spaces are safe and welcoming for everyone.
- Create outreach initiatives that focus on prevention — helping at-risk individuals before they lose housing.
We can balance compassion with responsibility. By working together, we can make downtown Sunnyside both safe and humane.
3. Economic Development: Revitalizing Our Local Economy

Empty storefronts, underused buildings, and struggling public spaces are holding Sunnyside back. Yet, our community has incredible potential — hardworking families, rich agricultural roots, and a small-town character that people love.
I want to help Sunnyside grow smartly, attract investment, and keep opportunities local.
My priorities include:
- Revitalizing downtown through small business support, local events, and beautification efforts that make Sunnyside a destination.
- Encouraging local entrepreneurship by simplifying permit processes and supporting new business startups.
- Protecting and improving public spaces like our pool, parks, and community center — ensuring they’re funded, accessible, and maintained.
- Partnering with regional employers and schools to strengthen workforce training and career pathways for our youth.
When our economy grows, our community grows. Sunnyside should be a place where businesses want to invest, families want to stay, and future generations want to build their lives.
Moving Sunnyside Forward
My vision is simple: a city that functions with integrity, leads with compassion, and builds for the future. With teamwork, transparency, and community involvement, I believe Sunnyside can become a model for small-city success.
This campaign isn’t about me — it’s about us. Let’s move Sunnyside forward, together.
¡Adelante con Muller!
